Plan To improve game development

When writing a text adventure game, I need a structure. I need to first write down the plot. Second, I need to write the true storyline and then true ending. The ending must be written first. Third, I need music for brainstorming, but it must be music that relates to my imagination. Then, I need to try to write down the story as close to my imagination as possible. Then, I need to write down all the side quests and all the missions and mechanics for the game as best qas possible and decide whether to move it to a new dev platform (software to be made in, I mean) or keep it in text adventure or keep the text adventure version but plan to make an RPG maker VX ace version for the ability to include my ideas and I need to see if my idea is doable, if not, then it is scraped. I must write it as a linear.

Text Adventure Game Development Plan

1. Plot Development

  • Objective: Start by outlining the overall plot of the game.
    • Write a high-level summary of the game’s setting, characters, and primary conflict.
    • Focus on the core storyline, ensuring it has a clear beginning, middle, and end.

2. True Storyline & Ending

  • Objective: Create the true storyline and the true ending of the game first.
    • Outline the progression of key events leading to the true ending.
    • Ensure the true ending is written in full, as it will shape the rest of the game’s narrative.
    • Determine how the story branches, but ensure the true storyline is central.

3. Brainstorming with Music

  • Objective: Use music that resonates with your imagination to inspire ideas.
    • Select tracks that reflect the atmosphere, tone, or emotions you want to capture in the game.
    • Listen during brainstorming sessions to enhance creative flow.

4. Writing the Story

  • Objective: Write the story as closely to your imagination as possible.
    • Use your brainstorming session to start drafting the game’s main narrative.
    • Focus on conveying the world, characters, and key story beats authentically.

5. Side Quests & Mechanics

  • Objective: Define all side quests, missions, and mechanics.
    • Create a detailed list of side quests and optional content.
    • Flesh out the game mechanics (e.g., decision-making, exploration, interactions).
    • Include any unique gameplay elements that will enhance the player’s experience.

6. Platform Decision

  • Objective: Evaluate the game’s platform and technical requirements.
    • Decide whether to keep the project as a text adventure or move it to a new platform (e.g., RPG Maker VX Ace).
    • If migrating platforms, ensure it accommodates your design ideas and mechanics.
    • Assess the feasibility of implementing your vision; if it's not achievable, consider scrapping or simplifying certain features.

7. Linear Storyline

  • Objective: Ensure the story follows a linear structure.
    • Map out the storyline, ensuring clear progression from start to finish.
    • Focus on keeping the main plot straightforward, even if side quests or optional branches exist.

Conclusion:

Follow this structured development plan to ensure that the game’s core narrative, side quests, and mechanics are fully developed before making platform decisions. The goal is to maintain creative alignment with your imagination while ensuring technical feasibility and clarity in the game's structure.
